Career Dimensions Privacy Policy
Overview
Career Dimensions, Inc. is a privately owned corporation incorporated in New Hampshire in 1991, and currently headquartered in Venice, Florida (USA). Career Dimensions is a software developer focused on providing services to higher education. Our products, commonly known as Focus 2, include "Focus 2 Explore" for Secondary Education College Search, and "Focus 2 Apply" & "Focus 2 Career" for Higher Education. Career Dimensions is the sole source owner and provider of these products.
For the purposes of this policy, it refers to the website domain at https://www.focus2career.com.
Website Visitors
Visitors to our sites are typically representatives and students of colleges & universities, academic consultants working with families, representatives of High Schools, Health Care Agencies, and individuals interested in our products.
Licensing
Career Dimensions licenses the use of its applications to use Focus 2 and grant access to their end users, and other third parties. Individuals not affiliated with organizations that license the applications, may also access the platform by purchasing a single use license for themselves that is valid for a specified time period.
Information We Collect
Information is provided in 2 ways: when provided directly by an end user, or the entity that has licensed the use of Focus 2 using technology such as Single Sign On, and when it is automatically collected by our sites.
End User from a School or Entity that has Licensed Focus 2.
The end user, typically a student, will provide information about themselves voluntarily which is required to create a unique user account. This includes First Name, Last Name, a Username created by the user and a password. Other information that may be collected at the discretion of the Licensor may include email address and other information such as addresses, and phone numbers. If the Licensor is using Single Sign On we collect First Name, Last Name, and a unique identifier for that user, typically email address.
End User that has Purchased an Individual License.
For account creation we collect First Name, Last Name, Username, Password, and Email Address. To purchase an account the entire credit card transaction is performed on a site owned by a third party - currently Stripe. No credit card information is collected or processed on our site.
Information that is Collected Automatically.
We collect device information such as IP address, browser type, the pages that are viewed, and the links a person clicks on.
Other Information Collected from Users with Accounts.
We collect and store answers to survey questions, and items that have been saved during the course of the userinteraction with the application. We do this to deliver the best possible experience for the user during their session and for when they return to continue the experience.
Information that is Shared
If you are an end user from a school or entity that has licensed Focus 2, your personal information may be viewed by other users with access to the application administrator console, such as instructors, counselors, and school administrators. The entity that has licensed Focus 2 is responsible for treating such information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
Other Parties
Career Dimensions will not use information collected from users for any purpose unless required by law, or requested by the entity licensing Focus 2. Career Dimensions will not contact any end user unless requested by the entity licensing Focus 2. Career Dimensions will not rent, transfer, or sell any information to a third party for any purpose.
How Personal Information is made Secure
Career Dimensions is committed to protecting the security of all of the personal information we collect and store. We use a variety of physical, administrative, and technical safeguards designed to help protect it from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or modification. We have implemented best-practice standards and controls in compliance with recognized security frameworks. We use encryption technologies to protect data at rest and in transit. Career Dimensions does not guarantee or warrant to the security and privacy of any data, information or content.
Data Retention
User Data is retained for the full duration of the active life cycle of the license with an entity such as a College or University. Upon termination of contract, data may be retained for an additional period of up to 30 days. At that time, all user data is destroyed/deleted.
Cookies
Career Dimension uses session cookies which are cookies that last for a session. A session starts when the user logs into the application and ends when they log out or close their browser window. Session cookies contain information that is stored in a temporary memory location which is deleted after the session ends. Session cookies are required, and note that a user may not use our application if cookies are disabled by them, or any 3rd party software operating on their devices.
End User Right to Delete Account
The end user at any point in time may exercise their right to destroy/delete their personal data and account. This can be done by navigating to the Profile Icon on the Main Dashboard of Focus 2.
